If there is one thing I learned from my wedding day, it is to relax, have fun and enjoy EVERY moment, because it whizzes past so quick you barely have a chance to take it all in!
But now that my moment has passed and I am officially a MRS. now, there are some tips that I want to share that could help you on your special day.
1. I wish I did this!
Usually liquid lipsticks last ALL day on me, they won't budge! But on my wedding day, all the talking, smiling, eating & drinking got lost in the lipstick and I didn't have a backup like I usually would. Bring a lipstick with you, I would recommend the same/similar colour applied or a nice nude!
2. Beauty sleep!
Make sure you have a good nights rest, because if you are like me and are prone to puffy under eyes, not even makeup can hide it - as harsh as that may sound!
3. Skincare!
Try to get a good skincare routine perfected about 3-4 months prior to your wedding, do not try new products or anything that could cause a reaction, because if it's a serious one, then who knows how long it could take to subside.

4. Trials!
Make sure you have trials for any beauty services you have booked for the day or leading up. This includes: hair, makeup, tan, beauty therapists, eyelash technicians, any sort of cosmetic enhancements etc. I think this is where some people can go wrong and think it will be fine on the day - and don't get me wrong, sometimes it can look fantastic, but sometimes it can leave you crying and upset on your day because it hasn't gone right. It can be costly to have trials, so make sure you do some research into your beauty guru's, have a look at their portfolio before you even make the choice to book a trial. (I will make another post on what to look for in a H/MUA)
5. Bring backups!
I know I mentioned lipstick already, but other things that you COULD need (that I certainly did) was foundation and brushes. Before I walked down the aisle I already ruined my makeup and had a streak on my face until our 2nd photo location after the ceremony! I wouldn't risk bringing bronzers/contour along as it could be a different colour/tone to what your makeup artist used and look wonky or uneven. For hair bring 1000's of bobby pins, my girls had a low bun and told me they had a few hundred pins in their hair when taking them out. But rule of thumb you have 1000 bobby pins, it actually means you will loose 980 in the process and have 20 on hand! What is it about those damn bobby pins?!
6. The dress.
If you have a lace up dress like I did, then make sure you bring someone along to the last fitting to learn how to do it up, they have certain techniques on how to make it look beautiful but it's also the little things like which side to thread first or how to tie it at the end so it looks nice etc. It will make all the difference - trust me!
7. Emergency kit!
This is a given these days, have a kit that will ensure if anything goes wrong that you have something in your kit that will fix it! You can purchase little ones at Seed or go on line and make a DIY one, Pinterest have some cute ideas!
8. Poses!
I don't know about you guys, but when I have photos taken of me I just feel ugh, I knew I would have this problem come wedding day so I took it upon myself to learn some poses and angles that I like of myself that look natural and have no double chin. I got some sneak peaks - and it worked! I love them!
9. BRA!
Now, if you are having a sleevless/sweetheart/showing shoulders type dress, it is a good idea to not sleep with your bra on the night before or try not to wear it at all to reduce the bra imprints!
& last but NOT least!
10. Avoid at all costs!
- Waxing/threading on the day of.
- Not eating!
- Not drinking water!
- Wearing new shoes (break them in a few weeks before)
- Dwelling on the little things.
That's it! Those are my 10 tips for your wedding! I hope they help in some way, even if you take 1 tip out of it, I will be super happy!
To all future brides reading this and got to the end, I wish you all the best on your wedding day - I hope it goes as perfectly as you planned and please remember the day is about what makes you and your HUSBAND happy!
xx
